Lucy & Chris Wedding, Elmore Court, Gloucestershire
Vicky & Alex Wedding-Stanton Manor Hotel-Chippenham
I first met Vicky at Dan and Julia's wedding when she was working her magic as hair stylist on Julia the bride. Following this I asked her to work with me again on the styled shoot I organised at Purton House earlier this year. So when she asked me to photograph her wedding I was thrilled to accept!
Their wedding took place at Stanton Manor Hotel in the village of Stanton St. Quinton near Chippenham. It was the weekend that hurricane Bertha made it's way past the UK and decided to dampen the ground but luckily not Vicky or Alex's spirits. They were such a glamorous and happy couple that capturing their day for them was so great as they looked picture perfect at all times!
Super talented make-up artist, and long time friend to Vicky (and new friend to me this year), Katie Aldridge was on hand the morning of the wedding to look after Vicky, her Mum and her bridesmaid Rachel. As a talented hairdresser it was only natural for Vicky to do her own hair but not only that she also did her mum's to! You'd think that would be enough to stress out most brides but it's safe to say their wedding morning was one of the most relaxed I've experienced to date.
Alex arrived with his brothers and family as well as his and Vicky's dog Ralphy who stole the hearts of many people on the day (even mine, a renowned 'cautious around dogs' person). He and his groomsmen all wore matching navy suits which they looked effortlessly sharp in all day.
Their wedding wasn't a huge affair but the energy on the day was infectious mainly due to the wonderful personalities from the north with Vicky's Liverpudlian family making the journey down south for the event. The laughter, banter and love that they brought to the day was amazing! Their were so many well dressed men and women with Vicky's fellow Goldsworthy colleagues and the couples friends rocking beautiful brights for the day. A hog roast style buffet lined everyones stomachs ready for the DJ, props and polaroids for the selfie's in the evening.
It was a wedding with such a great family atmosphere and one filled with so much laughter it was such a pleasure to capture the day for them.
Carli & Jamie Wedding - Hyde Barn - Cotswolds
Check out these two, I'm lucky to call them my friends and was thrilled when they asked me to capture their day for them as I knew it would be a stylish affair with lots of beautiful finishing touches and they didn't disappoint!
Carli and Jamie held their wedding at Hyde Barn in Stow on the Wold in the Cotswolds. It's a really pretty venue and their decorative skills made it even better!
I loved doing the couple shots with these guys, they're some of my favourite to date. As we did a lovely engagement shoot last July (check it out here) I knew that they'd rock it even more so on their wedding day. I loved Jamie's colour accents of mustard yellow and Carli not only had a beautiful dress but she had the most fun pair of Vivienne Westwood shoes to! All of these things combined as well as the request of natural shots together created photos that I've wanted to capture for a while.
I also got to photograph all of my friends having the best time (not gonna lie it was hard watching them party while I worked) but luckily because there was so much fun and laughter to capture it made it an honour to be there as their photographer.
Victoria & Lee Wedding - Wickbottom Barn - Rockley, Near Marlborough
When I met with Vic she told me hers and Lee's plans for their wedding and my heart skipped a beat because I knew that it'd be an awesome day to capture and they did not disappoint! Their festival themed day at Wickbottom barn was so beautiful in setting, style and emotion. The rustic barn setting complimented by the stunning landscape surrounding the barn leant itself to some gorgeous backdrops for photos. Lee and Victoria didn't want lots of posed or forced set ups instead they wanted a very much documentary style record of their day. I did however get the opportunity to capture them together with rolling fields behind them for their couple shots which are some of my favourite pictures to date, especially with the inclusion of their gorgeous boy Ronnie in some of the shots.
With the entire day outside we were so lucky with the weather and the entire day had the festival vibe that Vicky and Lee had envisaged. Bands playing, camper vans, bring your own booze with an ice and slice station, face artists giving all of the girls (and some brave guys) beautiful bejewelled designs on their faces (Victoria's favours to them), hay bale sofa and flags and stunning lighting it was a wedding that kept me so busy! I even got my trousers covered in owl faeces thanks to my dedication in getting a good group shot! The things I'm willing to do for the sacrifice of a photo!!
Sophie & Stu - Riverbarn Malmsbury
If you're looking for a beautiful english country garden wedding with a stunning Pronovias dress, pretty in pink bridesmaid dresses, powder blue groom and best man suit style as well as lots of laughter and romantic couple shots then this is the wedding for you!
Sophie and Stu booked me through recommendation from their friends Lee and Vicky whose wedding I shot a year ago (see it here) as they liked the style and wanted to achieve something similar for their wedding day. So their wedding photography requests were simple, relaxed shots with minimum 'forced' photos and fake smiles. I think at this wedding we achieved that even when we did our couple shots as these guys looked so good on the camera in their natural poses that they effortlessly just worked it! Sophie reminded me of a modern day Lady Mary from Downton with her beautiful wedding style and features. Stuart didn't disappoint either with his incredible powder blue linen suit which he managed to keep pretty pristine considering the damp start to the proceedings.
Speaking of which they decided to get married in a beautiful english country garden that set for a beautiful backdrop for both their wedding vows and for the pictures. Such a stunning setting for an outside wedding (even during the stupid British Summer rain showers). the guests then got to roam the grounds at their pleasure and make their way down to the stunning riverside marquee. Sophie had decorated this in such a cool, rustic vibe that it felt like the best village fete I'd ever had the pleasure of attending. The whole day was super relaxed and fun with speeches that had people crying so hard with laughter.
I also had the opportunity to capture the throwing of the bouquet which is so rare these days but it's a tradition I love to photograph as they're so much fun. Then to kick off the party the happily married couple danced to some awesome reggae tracks that made me so jealous that I couldn't stay to party with them!
It was an awesome wedding with so much cool style and fun moments it makes me smile that I get to be a part of it and call it work!
