How amazing was the weather last weekend!!! I got to spend time in the sunshine with my hubby and friends in a great location and to top off the beautiful sunshine I accompanied it with lots of food and drink and hot tubbing- what's not to like!
It was my bestest friend Kim's 30th birthday and she had invited a small group of us to join her in a cabin in Blackwood Forest in Hampshire (we booked through Forest Holidays). We spent the weekend taking long walks (to take in the scenery as well as burn off the calories consumed) and having lots of laughs. We even had some David Bowie inspired cupcakes courtesy of my talented friend B from Belles the Cupcake Company.
I was minus my 20 month old daughter for the weekend which felt a little like losing my right arm even more so as there was very little signal on my mobile but it was a wonderful opportunity to switch off and enjoy some time with friends (although as other mums will testify you can never fully switch off, ever!). We also agreed that as great as social media is it was refreshing to be cut off from news feeds and candy crush requests for a few days.
When I wasn't in the hot tub or holding a drink (these times were few and far between I have to admit) I thought it'd be nice to try to capture as many moments from the weekend as I could. Special birthdays go by so quickly so it's nice to have memories in physical form to look back on and laugh about again in years to come. I wanted to share a couple of the pics I took because they make me smile and it's good to share happy times :-)
